The Short Inca Trail with Camping 2D/1N with Camping Adventure includes a six hour hike on the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This tour begins with a four hour first day of walking, uphill. This gradually to the famous Winawayna ruins where you will stop for lunch. From this place, you will have to walk another hour, until you reach the Puerta del Sol, where you will have the opportunity to see Machu Picchu for the first time.
With this package or tour option, you will enjoy a night in our exclusive camp reserved only for Alpaca Expedition hikers. This campsite includes a well-deserved hot shower, freshly prepared meals, and battery/phone charging areas.
As for other specific details to take into account before starting the adventure of the short Inca Trail with camping 2D / 1N we have;
On the first day we will pick you up from your hotel at 4 am Next, we will go to the train station and leave on the 6:10 am train from Ollantaytambo. Being one of the most magnificent trains to travel on this route, with phenomenal views of the Urubamba River, snow capped mountain peaks and cornfield farms. As we descend, you will see the microclimate changes, from mountains and cornfields to green jungle valleys with ferns, bromeliads, and orchids, as the temperature begins to rise. This train trip lasts one hour and 45 minutes to Km 104, where we will disembark to meet your trekking chef and porters. You will also be able to enjoy breakfast before starting your trek. Be sure to bring your original passport as it will be needed for the first checkpoint along the Inca Trail. After breakfast, you will have time to get ready before starting the trek. Soon after, we will be able to explore the first Inca site, Chachabamba. Chachabamba was the first ancient Inca checkpoint to enter the Inca trail. Your tour guide will give you some background on this ruin, followed by the three-hour climb up to the most famous Inca site along the way, Winay Wayna. You will see impressive views of the Machu Picchu valley and the Urubamba River along the trail, as well as the native flora and fauna of the area. There are also waterfalls and spectacular views of the Machu Picchu mountain. The trail itself has some flat areas, as well as some short uphill and downhill walking. It also has steps arranged in sections that can be narrow in some areas, but not dangerous. Once you arrive at the Wiñay Wayna Inca site, you will have time for a tour by your tour guide. There will also be time to explore the Inca site, temples, waterfalls, gardens, warehouses, watchtowers, and agricultural terraces. after the short walk you will head to the lunch spot where your trekking chef and porters will be waiting for you ready, with drinks and delicious fresh food prepared by our cook and served as a buffet. After lunch, there will be time for a short nap. Then, it will be a gradual hike up and down for one hour to reach the Puerta del Sol. There you will have spectacular views of Machu Picchu. Once at Machu Picchu, you can explore the watchtower area where you can get lovely pictures of Machu Picchu (without the crowds). We will then take the 20-minute bus ride to the Puente Ruinas campsite. When you arrive at the camp, your tents will be ready. You will meet your porters again and enjoy a happy hour with hot drinks and dinner. Later in the evening, we will have a small ceremony with your chef and porters since it is your last night with them. They will still be there the next morning to prepare breakfast and a good send-off.

On day 2 early there will be a hot drink. You will have time to prepare your duffel bags and backpacks and enjoy breakfast. We will walk 30 minutes to the bus station to be one of the first in line to go up to Machu Picchu (sometimes there is a 20-30 minute wait in line to board the bus). The first buses will leave at 5:30 am and arrive at Machu Picchu at 6:00 am. You must have your original passport with you for the checkpoint. Your tour guide will take you to the perfect place to enjoy the sunrise over the mountains (weather permitting). Then we will have a two-hour private guided tour of the ruins of Machu Picchu, with all its fascinating history. You will also have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own. If you have booked a climbing permit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, will start at 10:00 am However, there are many other things to see around Machu Picchu. Like the Inca Bridge, Puerta del Sol, or you can walk around the temple and residential areas of Machu Picchu and mix with the llamas. then we will have to take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes to have lunch and then take the velta train to Ollantaytambo. From there, you will go in a private transport back to the city of Cusco, arriving there we will drop you off at your hotel.
