Below we present the characteristics of the short Inca Trail with hotel (Peru – Cusco) that you must keep in mind before starting this wonderful adventure:
The tour of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu begins with picking you up at the hotel at 4 am Next, we will go to the train station, where we will leave at 6:10 am from Ollantaytambo.
The path follows the Urubamba river until reaching Km104, where we will begin our walk. Along the way, you’ll see spectacular views of farmland, snow-capped mountains, and the mighty Urubamba River, which is one of the sources of the Amazon River.
Once at Km 104 (2,000 m), we will begin our walk. It’s good that you have everything prepared! We will provide you with refreshments and take a group photo before visiting our first Inca site.
After the orientation and tour of the site we will start walking to head to the Inca Trail. Weather permitting, we will have breathtaking views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River, and other surrounding Inca sites.
After walking for three hours, we will arrive at the most beautiful Inca site on the Camino: Wiñay Wayna (Siempre Joven) at 2,600 m / 8,500 ft. Most people have the opportunity to see an elaborate water fountain, temples, some agricultural products, and terraces, which offer a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the Incas.
The back of this site faces a cliff, with beautiful mountains surrounding the area. A few minutes away we will find the camps, the people who do the Classic Inca Trail will spend the night there.
Here we will provide you with a hot lunch. Cooked at the moment by one of our chefs. You will be able to refill your water container and you will have time to rest after lunch.
From Wiñay Wayna, we will walk to the Puerta del Sol, where we will see the picturesque landscape of Machu Picchu.
An advantage of this trek is that by the time you arrive at Machu Picchu, the travelers will have left, leaving the entire area for the people on this tour.
After taking photos, we take the bus to Aguas Calientes and head to your hotel. Next, we will go to Indio Feliz for dinner (included). This restaurant is considered the best in Aguas Calientes. After dinner, we recommend going to bed to rest early to make the most of the next day.
Note: This trekking route is identical to the 2-day Inca Trail with Camp
Hotel : La Cabaña (or similar)
Meals included: lunch and dinner
We will get up early in the morning to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu. You will have a two-hour guided tour by your private English-speaking guide.
After that, you will have time to explore Machu Picchu on your own. Those who have tickets to Huayna Picchu will have time to climb the mountain, which takes about an hour and a half, round trip. After exploring, you can take a bus or walk to Aguas Calientes for a free afternoon.
Don’t forget the train, which will leave later for Ollantaytambo. Then we will take you back to Cusco.
Meals included: breakfast only
